Hours

The Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies is open to the public Monday-Friday 8:00am - 9:00pm. The building is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Building is also closed on the following days throughout the year:

  • Thanksgiving [Thursday] and the following Friday
  • Christmas Day through New Year's Day (Dec. 25 - Jan. 1)
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day (July 4)
  • Labor Day

Schedule an Event at Rackham Graduate School

To request space for your event, please e-mail the Facilities Office at or call (734) 764-8572. In your message, please mention the dates you are inquiring about and your telephone number. Once we receive your message, we will contact you by telephone to complete the reservation; all requests will be responded to in the order in which they are received.

Study Halls

Open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 9:00pm the Rackham Building's study halls are considered by many to be "the best place on campus to study." These rooms the most elegant spaces on campus dedicated to graduate student use. If you haven't been lucky enough to experience these rooms yet, come over to the Rackham Building and check them out.

U-M Wireless Network at Rackham

The U-M Wireless Network is available to anyone who has a valid University of Michigan uniqname and password. The network is available in designated areas of the lower level, first, second, third and fourth floors of the Rackham Building. Information Technology Central Services provides easy instructions to get started.

Lost and Found

Please contact the Facilities Office at (734) 764-8572. If the item was lost in the Auditorium please contact University Productions at (734) 763-3338. You may also contact the Department of Public Safety at (734) 763-1131.
