Mellon Public Humanities Fellowships

These fellowships provide humanities doctoral students with summer stipends (generally $3,360 to $4,500) to support an extended opportunity to increase their capacities as scholars while exploring expanded career paths at a variety of host sites. The application deadline is Monday, February 6, 2017 at 5:00 pm. Please note that priority will be given to students who have not already received a Mellon Public Humanities Fellowship.

Please submit all materials to rackham-mphf-applications@umich.edu. You may apply for up to 3 Fellowship positions. If you apply for multiple positions, please write a separate cover letter for each position. Applications must include:

  1. A cover letter addressed to the Fellowship supervisor (listed below for each organization) explaining:
    • What skills and experience you bring to the project
    • What you hope to gain from the fellowship experience
    • How you would connect your scholarly interests to the project and the organization
    • Also include your name, e-mail address, and graduate program in your cover letter
  2. A current CV
  3. The name and contact information of a professional reference.
