U-M Physical Education Classes

Through the Department of Kinesiology, the UMove Program offers a wide variety of non-credit exercise and activity classes to students and the general public, including swimming, scuba diving, aerobics, yoga, weight training and tennis. Register online via the UMove website.

Recreational Sports Facilities

There are three U-M Department of Recreational Sports facilities, and several outdoor courts and fields. The indoor facilities are:

  • Central Campus Recreation Bldg. (CCRB) 763-3084; 401 Washtenaw Ave.
  • Intramural Sports Bldg. (IMSB) 763-3562; 606 East Hoover Ave.
  • North Campus Recreation Bldg. (NCRB) 763-4560; 2375 Hubbard Road.

Memberships are available to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public. All U-M students have an automatic membership which includes access to all of the facilities when they pay their student activity fee each semester.

Note

Because participation in recreational sports programs is voluntary, you assume responsibility for your own safety and health. If you are planning to participate in vigorous activities, you should, for your own protection, have a physical examination to determine if you are able to participate. Medical insurance, which would cover expenses incurred by an injury, is strongly recommended.
