Rackham Health and Wellness Survey of Graduate Students

In February 2006, the Rackham Graduate School conducted a needs assessment survey of the health and wellness of graduate students on the U-M campus. Rackham sent a survey to a group of 5,000 randomly-selected graduate and professional school students, which included questions about several different aspects of health and wellness, ranging from physical health to occupational health. Over 1,000 students responded to the survey, which assisted in the development of programs to meet the needs of our students. Download a PDF of interesting findings from the survey.

Recognizing the value in learning from the student experience, Rackham conducted a follow up study to learn more about health and wellness of graduate students. For the 2009 survey, Rackham surveyed 1,426 graduate and professional students who were randomly sampled on the basis of several demographic considerations. Of those sampled, 693 participated in the online survey, representing a 49% response rate.
