PLAN, Manage Your Professional Development as a Graduate Student
Graduate Student Affairs (GSA) is committed to providing the highest level of support and consultation to graduate students. The staff of GSA can assist with questions regarding Graduate School and University policies and procedures, complaints, concerns and advocacy. The office offers formal and informal dispute resolution services, provides resources and referrals, and can offer alternative resolutions in consultation with other offices as appropriate. Students can expect confidentiality in a safe environment.
The Rackham Graduate School has a designated Resolution Officer to provide advice and informal mediation for any student presently or previously registered in the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies having a complaint or a dispute related to academic matters. Contact the Resolution Officer for information about Rackham's Academic Dispute Resolution Policy and Procedures.
Similarly, any Rackham graduate student accused of academic/professional or non-academic misconduct is subject to Rackham's Academic and Professional Integrity Procedures. The Resolution Officer administrates the policy and offers guidance and support to the accused student throughout the adjudication process. The Resolution Officer is located in Graduate Student Affairs.
For a list of additional University resources that can assist with conflict resolution situations visit the Office of the Ombuds website.
