SROP Scholars should bring all toiletries (shampoo, soap, etc.), as well as an alarm clock. The residence hall will provide a linen packet which contains sheets, pillows, and towels; however, we recommend that you bring additional towels for your convenience. Please note: Couzens Residence Hall is not air conditioned, please plan accordingly.
All residence hall entrances are locked and we recommend that Scholars keep their rooms locked at all times. Each SROP Scholar will be issued two keys at check-in; a residence hall key and a room key.
For Friday, casual dress is appropriate (ie. your program t-shirts). On Saturday, professional/business attire (e.g. tie or dress) is recommended. You will have time to freshen up for dinner. Professional attire is also required for the Saturday evening banquet. Although most events will take place in air-conditioned locations, bear in mind that Michigan summers are hot so you should factor in outdoor temperatures when selecting attire.

Each SROP Scholar will participate in a research roundtable based on their summer research area, which students identify on the conference registration form. We will post roundtable assignments when they are available.
The Research Roundtable Guidelines are available on the website. The guidelines describe the sessions and provide tips to help you prepare for your session. Please note the different guidelines for poster presentations and roundtable presentations.
The posters must be a maximum of 3 ft. wide by 3 ft. 8 in. high. You may not exceed these dimensions as another poster will be displayed in the space next to your poster.

Each campus SROP Coordinator may nominate up to 2 posters to represent their institution. A panel of judges will determine the winning entries from the following divisions: Biological and Health Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering, Social Sciences, and Humanities and the Arts.

Yes, provided you take some simple steps to enhance your safety. First of all, be alert to suspicious people or circumstances. If something or someone doesn't seem right to you, go to a well-lit populated area and notify the police. Travel in well-lit, well-traveled areas and do not walk alone.
Emergency Telephone System phones are located around campus. These offer a direct line to the U-M Police and are recognizable by their blue lights.
911 dispatchers are available at (734) 763-1131, 24 hours a day, to answer your police, fire, or EMS calls. In response to a call, University of Michigan Police will take the required action. Emergency help can also be summoned by dialing 911 on any phone.

During the conference, while on the U-M campus, no one may store, possess, or consume alcoholic beverages and/or drugs.
