AAUW Names Abigail J. Stewart 2011 Eleanor Roosevelt Fund Awardee

WASHINGTON — Abigail J. Stewart, a leading researcher and distinguished professor of psychology and women's studies at the University of Michigan, will accept the Eleanor Roosevelt Fund Award Saturday, June 18, during the American Association of University Women's (AAUW's) 2011 National Convention.

Rackham Hosts 22nd Annual Summer Institute

The 22nd annual Rackham Summer Institute will begin on June 16. This year we are hosting 100 newly admitted Ph.D. students. They are recipients of the Rackham Merit Fellowships (RMF), Rackham Engineering Awards (REA), Rackham Science Awards (RSA), Rackham Merit Fellowships in Education, Psychology, and in the Program in Biomedical Sciences (PIBS). The Summer Institute offers courses related to Fellows' specific research interests, seminars focused on professional development, and other activities that facilitate a successful transition into graduate student life at U-M.

Rackham Hosts 25th Annual Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP)

Each summer, Rackham hosts the Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP) which offers outstanding undergraduates who are underrepresented in their fields of study the opportunity to conduct intensive research in their area of academic interest. The goal of SROP is to prepare students for advanced studies in graduate degree programs and to give them the resources they need to develop a thorough understanding of the research process.
