Posted Monday, July 07th, 2008

Funding for the Rackham Conference Travel Grant will increase by $100 per grant. The Travel Grant is intended to provide opportunities for Rackham graduate students to become familiar with, and take part in the life of their academic professions.

If you are a Rackham graduate student in good academic standing with a poster or paper accepted for presentation at a conference, the new funding rates will be up to:

  • $600 for travel within the continental US;
  • $850 for travel to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe; and
  • $1,100 for travel to Africa, Asia, South America, and Australia

The number of domestic and international travel grants has increased by 164% over the last 3 years. Between July 2007 and June 2008, 1800 graduate students were awarded Travel Grants at a cost of $1,040,000. For full eligibility criteria, please review our Rackham Conference Travel Grant guidelines.
