Where do I go if I want to file a grievance?
Depending on the issue or concern, your grievance or complaint could be handled by a variety of University resources. For instance, Rackham’s Academic Dispute Resolution Policy and Procedures address academically related complaints or grievances. Any Rackham graduate student can use these procedures to file a grievance. Rackham’s Academic and Professional Integrity Procedures address allegations of academic or professional misconduct against graduate students. Any student, faculty or staff can file a complaint against a graduate student under Rackham’s Integrity procedures.
Whatever the concern, Rackham’s Graduate Student Affairs Office offers the assistance of a Resolution/Grievance Officer and other staff who are available to provide counsel and advice about how to submit a grievance or complaint under Rackham procedures, what to do if you are accused of misconduct, or just explore various resolution options. You may contact the Graduate Student Affairs Office at Rackham Graduate School, Suite 1530 at (734) 647-7548 to schedule an appointment with Rackham’s Resolution/Grievance Officer.
