How You Can Support Graduate Students

Rackham Enrichment Fund

Your gift of any amount, combined with contributions from others, will help support our graduate students' educational or emergency medical needs.

Research & Travel Award

A $5,000 gift creates a named award to enable a student from one of Rackham’s 104 doctoral and 90 master’s programs to travel anywhere in the world to collaborate with scientists, attend conferences, study original art and manuscripts, or participate in archeological digs.

Required Internship

A $5,000 gift creates a named award to support, for example, a Museum Studies student's required summer internship in an archive, zoo, museum, botanical garden, film institute, or science center around the world.

Predoctoral Fellowship

An expendable gift of $25,000 creates a prestigious named fellowship for an outstanding student who is completing his or her dissertation.

First Year Recruitment Fellowship

An expendable gift of $50,000 creates a named fellowship to help us compete with our peer institutions and attract the very best graduate students to the University of Michigan.

Endowed Named Research Award

A gift of $100,000 establishes an endowment to provide an annual named research award for a student in one of Rackham’s 104 doctoral and 90 master’s programs.

Endowed Named Candidacy Award

A gift of $250,000 establishes an endowment to support a doctoral student who is completing his or her dissertation.

Endowed Named Fellowship

A gift of $750,000 establishes an endowment to provide an annual named fellowship to be awarded to a student in one of Rackham’s 104 doctoral programs. The endowed named fellowships will be used to recruit the most promising graduate students, those who show evidence of making a significant difference in their fields.
