Catherine was born and raised in France where she lived until 2003. She holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées in Paris and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Her Ph.D. work focuses on improving computational methods for computer vision and medical imaging applications. Such applications include object detection (e.g. a tumor) in MRI images. Outside of mathematics, Catherine is a member of the UMS Choral Union.
