Adel Elsherbini

Ph.D. Student in Electrical Engineering
Rackham International Research Award

Adel received his B.S. and M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University-Egypt and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. His work focuses on developing Ultra-Wideband Antennas for high resolution Radar applications. Adel is also working on the development of a new Radar technique for mapping the bedrock height in desert regions, which should help reduce the cost of oil field explorations. He won second prize among 80 international contestants in the 2008 General Assembly of the International Union of Radio Science for his research on antennas. Adel plans on graduating in 2011.
