5th Annual Graduate Coordinators Professional Conference
Building Your Resources to Thrive
That old saying about the weather in Michigan is true, “If you don’t like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will change.” The same can sometimes be said about graduate education. You can be sure that each academic year will bring new challenges and changes. Whether it is new administration, new policies, a new position, new Google mail or moving to MiWorkspace, something will change.
How will you face the changes of the next academic year? What type of resources do you have in order to move forward? Will you grow? Will you realize your goals despite such changes? Will you THRIVE? Join us in exploring ways to help build your resources in order to THRIVE! Our one-day conference will present workshops designed to help you understand the resources available to help you THRIVE in the academic environment. Take away new ideas for managing stress as well as strategies for improving your nonverbal and verbal communication styles! Hear from an expert on building different types of relationships (mentoring, sponsoring, and advocates) to help you navigate your career path. Come and listen to a few of your student services peers on strategies and pathways they pursued to achieve success in their careers. Get some practical, hands-on help managing the tools available through Google. And build your tool kit of resources to help your students who are facing distress.
Take this opportunity and join your community of graduate coordinators on May 21, 2013 at the 5th Annual Graduate Coordinators Conference: Building Your Resources to THRIVE!
