Emergency Funding
We understand that situations can arise when students need to look for additional monies. There are a number of places you can turn to for possible financial assistance.
A note of caution: If you currently are receiving need-based financial aid, any additional funds you receive could reduce your current loan amounts. Please call the Financial Aid Office for verification at (734) 763-6600.
Rackham Graduate Student Emergency Fund
The Rackham Graduate Student Emergency Fund is intended to help meet the financial needs of Rackham graduate students who encounter an emergency situation or one-time, unusual, or unforeseen expenses during their degree program.
Center for the Education of Women Emergency Grants
Through their counseling program, the Center awards small emergency grants to graduate students and nontraditional undergraduates, including parents and returning students, who face serious and unexpected financial problems. To apply for a "critical difference" grant, call (734) 764-6360 to make an appointment with a counselor.
