    Join Rackham Economics alumnus Charles Betsey to hear about his career in both academia and government. Dr. Betsey worked in Washington, DC in non-profit and government research for several years before moving to Howard University. Currently, Dr. Betsey works on issues of social policy, particularly the question of the racial wealth gap and its causes and consequences, and co-directs the Center on Race and Wealth at Howard University.

    Change it Up! brings bystander intervention skills to the University of Michigan community for the purpose of building inclusive, respectful and safe communities. It is based on a nationally recognized four-stage bystander intervention model that helps individuals intervene in situations that negatively impact individuals, organizations, and the campus community.

    A workshop on how to best manage your time as you juggle all the responsibility of being a graduate student at Michigan. The presentation will provide students with practical time management skills as well as self-care strategies that relate to time management and being a well-balanced student. The presentation will also address procrastination as an issue with time management. Co-sponsored by Counseling and Psychological Services.

Similarly, Rackham honors the mentoring abilities and involvement of faculty through three different mentoring awards.

    While all Ph.D. students produce dissertations of quality, some students write dissertations that are truly exceptional for the high caliber of their scholarship and for the significance and interest of their findings. Each year we invite faculty to nominate the dissertations produced in their programs that were outstanding.

    Rackham Graduate Exercises is the official commencement ceremony for all master’s and doctoral graduates and candidates who receive their degrees through the Rackham Graduate School. Held in Hill Auditorium, this program recognizes doctoral degrees recipients individually and is formal in tone. This year's the ceremony will be held on Friday, April 28th at 10:00 am. Tickets are not required for general seating at Hill Auditorium.
