Rackham Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Strategic Planning Process

As part of U-M’s first five-year strategic plan on diversity, equity, and inclusion, Rackham has begun the multi-step process of assessment, planning, and implementation of actions that will improve the graduate student experience around these issues. Regular updates will be made available on this site as they become available.

Rackham Student Diversity Forum, December 8, 2015

To begin gathering input from students, Rackham hosted the first in a series of student forums on December 8, 2015. Almost 100 students participated in a Rackham community conversation regarding diversity, equity and inclusion which included an exploration of issues, challenges, and short and long term ideas for change. The primary goal was to share and learn more about students’ reflections and perspectives in ways that can help shape and inform our current and future actions.

Faculty and Staff Diversity Forum, February 24, 2016

On February 24, Rackham hosted a Faculty and Staff Diversity Forum, to get the perspective of faculty and staff on similar questions that were posed to students at the December event. A follow up event was scheduled for students on February 24, but it was cancelled due to inclement weather.
