University of Michigan - Ann Arbor AGEP

The University of Michigan and four other major research institutions in the state have established one of the Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP), a program funded by the National Science Foundation to advance underrepresented minority graduate students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and Social Behavioral and Economic Sciences (SBE) as they pursue their degrees, and to enhance their preparation for faculty positions in academia. The Michigan AGEP Alliance (MAA) includes the graduate schools at Michigan State University, Michigan Technological University, University of Michigan (lead institution), Wayne State University and Western Michigan University.

This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. HRD-1305932. The University benefits from the further enrichment and diversification of the entire learning community, and MAA students benefit from the combined resources of the five outstanding universities in our alliance, as well as a network of 80 AGEP alliances across the U.S. For a list of alliances, visit the national Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate website.
