Would You Know What to Do?

Many college students wonder about their personal safety. U-Move Fitness is pleased to partner with Katy Mattingly, Student Safety Education Program Manager from Dean of Students Office, to offer free personal safety education workshops. These workshops feature the opportunity to learn and practice verbal and social skills for assertive communication, as well as physical skills for setting boundaries with acquaintances, friends, family and strangers. You’ll identify strategies for responding to the most common reported and unreported crimes on college campuses. You’ll also learn more about campus safety resources and where to go for more information or help. This workshop is free, and open to people of all genders, identities and physical abilities. You will not be learning martial arts, and you do not have to be physically fit to empower yourself by learning personal safety strategies and tools. Survivors of violence are welcome; you're invited to participate in whatever way works for you. Drop-ins are welcome, however we would prefer you register online using activity #110239. Sessions meet on 7/11, 7/18 and 8/1 from 5:00-6:30 pm in 3275 CCRB.
