Postcard from the Field: Frankfurt, Germany

Greetings from Frankfurt, Germany

Dear Rackham,

This was at a sports bar in Frankfurt, Germany. I took a break from my research to watch the German-Greek Euro Cup football match. The guy in black was rooting for Greece, which is why he looks so forlorn. There's an ongoing crisis over Greece’s Eurozone bailout and I had a firsthand look at German-Greek relations at their most delicate. Frankfurt is home to the Bundesbank, which was Germany’s monetary authority before it joined the Eurozone. I came here to use the very high quality data it collects on firms and banks in Germany.
