NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Recipients at Michigan

This year 46 students here at the University of Michigan were offered one of the Graduate Research Fellowships sponsored by the National Science Foundation in the most recent competition. Some of them enjoyed public notice by their departments or lab groups earlier in the spring. I’d like to give credit to all for their notable achievement.

This highly prestigious award recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees in fields that come within the mission of NSF. The fellowship provides for three years of support in a graduate program to students who have shown high potential for future achievement in science and engineering research. The program is intended to help ensure the vitality and diversity of the scientific and engineering workforce in the United States.

The list of former recipients include many known for their transformative breakthroughs in research, many who have become leaders in their chosen careers, and even some who have been honored as Nobel laureates. We plan to see members of Michigan’s current cohort receiving NSF Graduate Research Fellowships join their ranks!
