Mark Your Calendars: SROP Symposium on July 25

The Summer Research Opportunity Program is coming to a close next week. An important part of the SROP experience for participants is to present their projects at the SROP Final Research Symposium held in the Rackham Building on July 25th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. This provides our graduate school community the opportunity to encourage the professional development of our SROP participants by joining in to hear about what they have achieved over the summer—and encourage them to pursue a graduate education at the University of Michigan! This is a wonderful recruiting opportunity for graduate programs and I encourage faculty, staff, graduate students and others in your area to show your support by attending the event.

In addition to the Final Research Symposium, students will also present their research in a roundtable format on July 26th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Rackham Building. These smaller settings allow students additional time to elaborate on their projects to a group of their peers, and to discuss their research with a faculty moderator.

We are proud of the accomplishments of the SROP students in their short time here this summer and I hope you will join me in making their culminating activity for SROP a positive professional experience.
