Data Analysis Support for Graduate Student Researchers

The Center for Statistical Consultation and Research (CSCAR) provides statistical support and training to University of Michigan researchers, including graduate student researchers pursuing any type of graduate degree.

We provide free consulting via scheduled appointments (call 764-7828 to schedule), unscheduled visits to our offices (3550 Rackham), and through e-mail.

Our scope is broad, including formal statistical analysis, data visualization, predictive modeling, geographic information systems, methods for large data sets, qualitative data analysis, text analysis, and data mining, among other areas.  We also support software for data analysis including SPSS, SAS, R, STATA, and several other packages.

CSCAR welcomes clients seeking assistance with basic questions, including questions from researchers with minimal formal statistics training. We also have the expertise to accommodate researchers using advanced and cutting-edge analysis methods.

CSCAR offers 1-3 day workshops throughout the year on a variety of topics.
