Counseling & Psychological Services Is a Valuable Resource for Graduate Students

A warm welcome to all of our new and returning graduate students! Graduate school can provide so many exciting opportunities for growth, but at times it can also be challenging. Balancing multiple roles, navigating relationships with advisors and colleagues, and adjusting to increased autonomy are just a few reasons why graduate students may need extra support.

Please know that Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) is one of the places where you can find support. CAPS specializes in student mental health—we offer confidential, brief, solution-focused individual, couples and group therapy. We also have a Wellness Zone for those of you who would simply like to “drop in and relax.” We have massage chairs, light therapy machines for Seasonal Affective Disorder, biofeedback and Kinect for Xbox.

During the academic year, we are open from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am – 5:00 pm on Fridays. We’re located on the 3rd floor of the Michigan Union. For more information, please visit caps.umich.edu.
