Campus Mind Works: Supporting Student Mental Health

The University of Michigan Depression Center is pleased to announce that the Campus Mind Works education and support groups will continue to be offered this semester. Designed to provide an extra layer of support for students with depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, these free, bi-weekly, drop-in groups are offered on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from October through April, on North and Central Campus. Each group begins with a brief presentation on a topic which impacts student mental health, followed by a facilitated support group run by a nurse practitioner. The University of Michigan Depression Center would like to invite you to the 11th Annual Depression on College Campuses Conference, “Depression on College Campuses: Moving Toward Healthy Self-Care” on February 26 and February 27, 2013 at the Rackham Graduate School. The majority of college students with depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders do not seek treatment. Campus Mind Works: Supporting Student Mental Health

Are you a University of Michigan student who has been diagnosed with a mental health disorder? If so, you are not alone. Many U-M students have mental health disorders which require ongoing care. Campus Mind Works is a website and outreach initiative developed by the University of Michigan Depression Center to help support student mental health. Free Depression Screenings Provided on North Campus on October 11

The University of Michigan’s Depression Center, in partnership with the College of Engineering, Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning, and Rackham Graduate School, will offer students, faculty and staff a free opportunity to determine whether they are experiencing some of the symptoms of depression, and would benefit from further evaluation. The screenings will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on October 11 in the Duderstadt Center connector on North Campus, as part of National Depression Screening Day.
