Online appointment requests can now be made at cscar.research.umich.edu. Graduate student researchers are welcome to take advantage of our walk-in service. The Center for Statistical Consultation and Research (CSCAR) provides free support to all U-M researchers on a variety of topics related to data collection and analysis, design of research studies, quantitative research methods, computation and technical software, and presentation of research findings. CSCAR welcomes e-mail inquiries – e-mail your research questions to statistics.help@umich.edu or to one of our topic-specific e-mail addresses (see our web page for details). Most of the time you will get a response within one working day. One-on-one appointments with a professional statistician can be scheduled by calling our front desk at 764-7828 during business hours. Data Analysis Support for Graduate Student Researchers

The Center for Statistical Consultation and Research (CSCAR) provides statistical support and training to University of Michigan researchers, including graduate student researchers pursuing any type of graduate degree. We provide free consulting via scheduled appointments (call 764-7828 to schedule), unscheduled visits to our offices (3550 Rackham), and through e-mail. Our scope is broad, including formal statistical analysis, data visualization, predictive modeling, geographic information systems, methods for large data sets, qualitative data analysis, text analysis, and data mining, among other areas.  We also support software for data analysis including SPSS, SAS, R, STATA, and several other packages. CSCAR welcomes clients seeking assistance with basic questions, including questions from researchers with minimal formal statistics training. We also have the expertise to accommodate researchers using advanced and cutting-edge analysis methods. CSCAR offers 1-3 day workshops throughout the year on a variety of topics.
