Many graduate students study or conduct research abroad. There are many resources available to help cover the costs of going abroad. Students should check with their graduate programs to help identify resources that are available for students in their discipline. As a part of your research, you may need to travel, conduct field work, perform archival study, gain access to datasets, purchase special materials, conduct surveys, pay participants, etc. The Rackham Graduate Student Research Grant is designed to support Rackham graduate students who need assistance to carry out their research and advance their progress toward their degree. Both master’s and doctoral students are eligible for a research grant. "I Received Funding. Now What?" Once you have been awarded funding, here is a checklist of tasks you may need to do: Contact the funding source to accept the award and verify that everything is set for your funding to begin. Determine if the funding will be released directly to you or to your institution. Notify your faculty advisor and the graduate coordinator in your program about your award.
