Wei is a Chinese citizen. She received her B.S. in Physics from Nanjing University (China) and her M.S. in both Physics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Her Ph.D. work involves the development of ultra-violet lighting emitting devices based on zinc oxide thin films. Wei is also developing single-crystalline zinc oxide films with superior quality on silicon substrates for the purpose of multifunctional devices integration with Si electronics. She expects to graduate in December 2009.
