Mohammad was born in Esfahan, Iran and graduated with an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from the University of Tehran, Iran in 2007. He turned to chemical engineering based on his interests in using engineering principles and methods to solve novel biological problems. His research interests include mathematical modeling of biological processes, receptor dynamics, cell and tissue engineering. His current study applies mathematical modeling for identifying the mechanisms of immunological responses to tuberculosis infection. Mohammad plans to graduate in 2012.
