Immigration Process for International Students Transferring a Visa from Another U.S. Institution

  • Graduate program notifies Rackham that they have recommended the applicant for admission

  • Applicant can view recommendation of admission in Wolverine Access

  • Rackham e-mails applicant with admission

  • Applicant accepts the offer of admission in Wolverine Access

  • Student provides financial information, current immigration paperwork, and any dependent information using the Wolverine Access “Document Upload” page

  • Student signs up for eShip Global or notifies Admissions their intention to pick up the I-20 or DS-2019

  • Rackham issues the required I-20 or DS-2019 after the SEVIS release date is determined by their previous University, indicated on the U-M Transfer-In Form

  • Rackham mails the document using eShip Global or notifies student by e-mail that the document is ready for pick up

  • Student arrives on campus by “reporting date” indicated on the I-20 or DS-2019
