After Accepting Admission

  • 2 to 3 days after you accept the offer of admission you will receive an e-mail that will help you to set-up your Uniqname and Basic Computing Package. Follows the steps to create a Uniqname and establish Computer Access. Completing this step will make it possible for you to register for classes in the future.
    • University of Michigan Information and Technology Services (ITS) will send you an e-mail giving you a “one-time identifier.” You will also be given the internet address of a web page where you will use your one-time identifier, U-M ID number, and date of birth to get your Uniqname and password. At this point, the Basic Computing Package (BCP) is set up for you.
  • Visit the New Student Welcome section of Rackham’s website.
  • Register for classes based on graduate program instructions.
  • Attend orientation sessions as appropriate and required by the graduate program, Rackham, the International Center, and other University of Michigan offices.
