1998, The Think Tank

The 1998 Rackham Summer Interdisciplinary Institute brings together a group of faculty and graduate students to systematically explore and reflect on the opportunities and challenges in interdisciplinary research and teaching. Some of the objectives of the Institute are to examine the connections between the intellectual and institutional challenges to interdisciplinarity; to create a context and community for the exploration of pedagogical approaches, methods and tools well suited to interdisciplinary study and research; and to seed interdisciplinary ventures.
